This past weekend I bought new clothes. There is always a fear that any new threads I buy I’ll have to turn around and sell because I lose or gain weight (spoilers, it’s rarely because of weight loss).
Now, I find myself at an impasse between healthy living and an outdated wardrobe, and for the very first time, I need a smaller size. Well, okay, I could have purchased new clothes a year ago (My stuff is outdated).
I wrote these two paragraphs a few days before posting, as this was a good weight loss theme for the week. Then, the very next day (Tuesday), my “Crohn’s” flare-up hit me harder than ever. I was at work, PA’ing at an ice rink, and I doubled over in pain instantaneously. I had never experienced a flare-up like this before. I sat down and took a Zantac (i,.e. acid reduction medication helps with the pain) to soothe the intestines. I usually take Prilosec, but the set medic, Norm, only had the former.
Over the next few hours, the pain persisted until I was asked if I needed to go home. I did and zonked out as soon as I sat down to write this post. I awoke several hours later to a calm digestion tract, and a drool-covered, oversized t-shirt.
It just goes to show that no matter the diet, sometimes your previous lifestyle can supersede your healthy eating habits. It’s important to know that while this may happen to you (with your own, familiar symptoms), you’re doing the right thing by taking care of your body and choosing higher grade fuel in which to feed it.
Hang in there. This too shall pass.
But I definitely need new kicks too. The one downside of full-time Set Life is having to shop on the weekends amongst the masses.

Yup, I gained more weight. I’m not sure why as I don’t believe it was the gym this time. Maybe I’m eating too much watermelon lately… Whoops.
Oh well, this is why they advise NOT weighing yourself! Seeing the number increase can potentially discourage your Whole30, but I say “fear not!” If you’re on track, stay there! You will thank yourself in the end!
Until next week!
