I’ve been slacking. Ever since February 6th when I conquered the Whole30 process and lost twenty pounds(!) I had never felt better… Until I’d resumed eating like I had used to before I began the food experiment. Granted, again, I ate largely the same way as the diet suggests, but I ate more carbs and drank more alcohol. During the Whole30, I discovered that I can’t stand the taste of milk anymore, sugar messes with me, and carbs are not my friend.
What’s worse, is that after the conclusion of the Whole30, my energy levels dropped precipitously, and I knew that to feel the way I want to feel (normal), I’d have to maintain the Whole30 lifestyle. So here I am again, except this time, it’s the Whole60.
Yeah, that’s right, I’m partaking in this diet for sixty days instead of the minimum of thirty. That means from April 25th to my birthday, June 25th. This could not have come at a worse time, for I am desperately broke, and need to figure out how to pay for car insurance and my newfound root canal costs. My other teeth will have to wait… (Shameless Plug: Use the link here to buy something you’d normally buy from Amazon.com! It’ll help me out!).
Last time, I lost twenty pounds and felt like a million bucks. Sure, I gained ONLY around five pounds back since (which is my mind is a success in its own right), but I did lose a lot of muscle mass, so who knows how much of that weight is fat.
The first trek on the path of Whole30 also caused fatigue regarding posting daily so this time, I won’t be posting every day of the journey. Instead, I’ll write a weekly check-in every Wednesday with updates on my weight and my energy. Yes, the Whole30 book advises refraining from weigh-ins, but the results won’t deter me either way.
So see you next Wednesday! And if you want to read how my first run of Whole30 went, you can read the below posts.
Have a great day!
