I have never once set a reading goal for any given year and I’ve set a yearly film-watching goal ever since 2015. It’s time for that to change. Find out how many I plan on reading below.
Click through to hear the story of how it all came together and see each reaction from my brother & his fiancé, my Dad & stepmom, my Mom, my Goddaughter, and my Dad’s side of the family including my Memére.
Just make sure to have a tissue ready.
One year. It’s been one year since I moved out west. Okay, so truth be told, I moved into my first apartment on November 8th but I’d rather not be linked to that day for obvious reasons. No, November 6th was the first day I laid my head down in California.
It appears that late October/ early November is a time of great change for me. Four years ago, I was shooting The Tale of the Three Brothers and simultaneously realizing that my marriage was over. Two years ago, I quit my longtime job at EMMC and began at Verizon. And last year, I moved across the country in pursuit of my future.
If the title didn’t give it away, I’m here to discuss Daylight Savings Time but it’s not what you think. I’m not going to bitch about how it should be abolished leaving the nights longer (but it totally should). No, I’m writing this because I saw another reminder of it at work.
Jamie blows the whole podcast to smithereens. Find out why.

This was my next #52PickUp:
Dedicated to Wes.
I just found out that I lost a friend I had grown to know very well over the past three years to suicide. We worked together on a few shorts in Maine and he always seemed happy (well, as much as any of us anyway). He had recently been taking care of himself; eating right, working out, and working towards his goals. But in the end, his thoughts were too much for him to contain and he took action albeit in the wrong direction.
I’m devastated not only because we lost him but sad that we feel so isolated in a world full of lonely people. If only we could get together more, talk more frequently, and learn to break away from feeling ashamed to reach out then this wouldn’t happen as often as it does. Continue reading
I’ve been slacking. I’ll be the first to admit it. I meant to make an individual post about each film I had thought had a chance to make my Top Ten list of 2017, and between work and other projects, I have let you, fine readers, down.
To make it up to you, here are the films that may very well make my Top Ten list this year that don’t have their own post. For the previously posted see– Split | Get Out | Logan | Kong: Skull Island |
Wow, I didn’t post that many, did I? I hope you all didn’t think that I hadn’t seen any more great films! I will continue posting #ConTENders with the jam-packed fall and winter as scheduled. So stay tuned for that. Continue reading
