I can’t believe it. The day that put me into overdrive has finally arrived. Today is exactly two years to the day since I began sharing My Cancer Story. I realized this day was swiftly approaching back in November of last year, and thus, I typed feverishly to finish the first draft of this autobiographical novel as fast as possible, even though this story never began as a book.
Yet, here I am, fourteen chapters away from the end of that initial draft. At many points, this weekly installment of chapters was a welcomed deadline to keep writing amidst my chaotic life, and at other times, it became a chore, chopping away at a chapter late into Sunday night so I could make my Monday 6 AM EST deadline.
Some weeks, I missed the mark entirely, all because I fell behind on my several-chapter surplus; hence, why I only have eighty-seven chapters up and not one for each of the one hundred and four weeks. Wow, I missed seventeen weeks?!
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I toyed with the idea of posting only up to a hundred chapters until I was finished with the final draft of the completed novel. I am going to stick to this notion and post the 100th chapter on my birthday, Monday, June 25th, 2018. This is the day I plan to finish that final edition. It’s still a LOFTY goal, but I aim high.
So that’s it! Look forward to thirteen more chapters of my first draft (for now), and for the finished book by July!

Will Jamie finish the book in time? Isn’t he busy working on television? The answer to both of those questions is: I hope so.
