63- #DLMChallenge “Dallas Buyers Club”

For #63 of the #DLMChallenge #365moviesin365days on April 16th I watched: Dallas Buyers Club.

Does this three time Oscar-winning movie stand alone as a great film, or a great vehicle for its winning actors?

Based on a true story about a man who subverts the AIDS drug system for experimental drugs from across the border to Mexico.

This movie shows the sad, twisted history of the American medical drug system and what some very sick people had to do in the 80s to retain any shred of hope.

There’s a reason why this film received such praise for its acting as it’s the best part of this film, and that’s sure saying a lot.

The “McConaissance” came to a crescendo when he won the Oscar here. Then soon after he started on True Detective.

If you haven’t seen this, go for it, but prepared to be bummed out. These true story films rarely end up happy.
