For #61 of the #DLMChallenge #365moviesin365days on April 14th I watched: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
I really hated the first Hobbit. It was way too long- each scene could have cut a full minute or more of extraneous footage, and we really didn’t need to see every damned dwarf show up at Bilbo’s door. Then I saw this movie.
Thankfully, this film seemed like the appropriate length and also felt interesting and exciting throughout each scene.
I look forward to seeing how it all ends, but as of this writing I’m on movie #184 and if that’s any indication, I’m not too excited to see a three hour movie.
