48- #DLMChallenge “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”

For #48 of the #DLMChallenge #365moviesin365days on March 31st I watched: Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Old Sci-fi films offer a great perspective on “advanced technology” and it’s nice to see how the Close Encounters’ spaceships have a beautiful design that paved the way for modern cinema’s achievements.

The idea was interesting, and now I get that reference in Paul with Devil’s Tower.

Not to mention that this is one of the “classics” I had never seen (spoilers, many more to come). I’m excited to watch other Spielberg greats from his early years in cinema.

The Main Crew:

Cinematographer: Vilmos Zsigmond (The Long Goodbye, The Deer Hunter)

Written and Directed by: Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan, Jaws)

The Main Cast:

Richard Dreyfuss (Mr. Holland’s Opus, Jaws)

Francois Truffaut (Day for Night, The Green Room)

Teri Garr (Young Frankenstein, Dumb and Dumber)

Melinda Dillion (A Christmas Story, Harry and the Hendersons)
