For #28 of the #DLMChallenge #365moviesin365days on March 14th I watched: The Boxtrolls. All hail the Cheese! The Boxtrolls was one of the Oscar-nominated animated films of 2015, and lost out to Big Hero 6. While I intend on watching that film, I now see why The Boxtrolls was nominated.
The Boxtrolls is the third stop-motion film from the Animation Studio Laika following Coraline and ParaNorman. Stop-motion is a favorite of mine, so this charming film sold me quite easily. It also sets up one hell of a believable world (thanks to the author of the source material, Alan Snow).
In conclusion? Watch it.
