For #23 of the #DLMChallenge #365moviesin365days on March 2nd I watched the comedy sequel Horrible Bosses 2. “What is the deal with comedy sequels?”
Comedy sequels as of late tend to be more like The Hangover 2, and less like The Naked Gun 33 and a 1/3rd (Yes, I love this movie, look out for #54).
This and other comedy sequels tend to rely on a very similar narrative to the original. Some can say that this film switches out the murder plot for a kidnapping plot.
Now, to say that this is the reason for not seeing this film, then you’d be wrong. If you like the characters, then you’ll like this film, guaranteed.
A funny movie is a funny movie, and this is a pretty funny movie.
Although, as you see below, lots of comedies have lots of writers…
The Main Crew:
Cinematographer: Julio Macat (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Home Alone)
Written by: Sean Anders & John Morris (Dumb and Dumber To, Sex Drive)
Story by: Jonathan M. Goldstein & John Francis Daley & Sean Anders & John Morris)
Characters: Michael Markowitz
Directed by: Sean Anders (That’s My Boy, Never Been Thawed)
The Main Cast:
Jason Bateman (Arrested Development, Juno)
Jason Sudeikis (Hall Pass, Saturday Night Live)
Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Pacific Rim)
Jennifer Aniston (We’re the Millers, Office Space)
