This week, I went in the semi-distant future to visit Earth when all of the polar ice caps have melted. Yes, I watched the financially disastrous 1995 post-apocalyptic film:
Jamie and Alex are alone for two episodes! Will they stay on track or fly off the rails? HINT: THE LATTER. We do voices, talk shit on the prequels (you know which ones), chaotic editing in film, and so much more!
We discuss Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson’s storied history, A Film Independent Director’s Close Up with Arrival Director Denis Villeneuve and editor Joe Walker, go into John Wick Chapter 2 and how its choreography is better than Star Wars: Episode 1; and finally, we talk Jamie’s #52PickUp #6: 1989’s Little Monsters.
HOLY SHIT, I JUST REALIZED THAT WE DISCUSSED HACKSAW RIDGE ON EPISODE 43!!
Sorry about that.
Alex– Hacksaw Ridge (Starts at 00:00)
Jamie– John Wick Chapter 2 (5:46)
#52PickUp– Little Monsters (17:34)

In a whirlwind of middling special effects and blockbuster action, for this week’s #52PickUp, I watched the 1996 Man vs. Nature film:
