The Disaster Artist #ConTENders 2017

During one of my many days working as a Production Assistant on American Horror Story, another PA asked everyone an informal poll question: What’s most important to you? A lot of people said family, financial security, or love. My answer was the same reason I came out to Los Angeles in the first place: happiness. #ConTENders for My Top Ten of 2017 (so far)

I’ve been slacking. I’ll be the first to admit it. I meant to make an individual post about each film I had thought had a chance to make my Top Ten list of 2017, and between work and other projects, I have let you, fine readers, down.

To make it up to you, here are the films that may very well make my Top Ten list this year that don’t have their own post. For the previously posted see–  Split | Get Out | Logan | Kong: Skull Island |

Wow, I didn’t post that many, did I? I hope you all didn’t think that I hadn’t seen any more great films! I will continue posting #ConTENders with the jam-packed fall and winter as scheduled. So stay tuned for that.Read More »

72- Nostalgia Be Damned

The two guests on today’s show are from the titular podcast, Nostalgia Be Damned! Brandon (former guest and co-host of We Need Movies with Jamie) and Zach Warren graciously let Jamie crash their podcast and record a special segment during Jamie’s surprise visit to the East Coast.

The guys simply discuss the lone topic: What is nostalgia? Where does it come from? And why do we feel it? A fitting topic considering Jamie’s run of #52PickUp from this very show.

Ever since my battle with cancer, memories were something that I was compelled to create in abundance. Those memories didn’t need to be tied intrinsically to monumental moments in my life but also derived from simple things such as melodies and quiet nights at home. This next memory, however, involved an event of middling proportions: the departure from my very first home rental… and return to living with my parents.

Memories indeed.

New (and Recurring) Series in 2017

As my second year of writing on the blog comes to a close, I’m grateful to all of you out there who have supported me by reading the blog, commenting, and helping it grow from its meager beginnings to a mildly more popular site. I shattered my old view count for 2015, I intend to once again double the views from the previous year; which will be an astonishing goal to reach. Here are my views for the year 2016:

Which Series Are Returning?

My Cancer Story

Of course, this crucial part of my life and its documentation will continue into 2017. I hope this will be the year that the first draft is complete so I can begin the rewrite and release it as an autobiographical novel. This is one of my main goals for the New Year.Read More »

Titular Dialogue

Have you ever watched a movie and anticipated the use of the title spoken via dialogue?

It’s been a favorite thing of mine for decades. In fact, I almost get upset when they don’t use it. Sure there are some movies like the Men in Black or Fight Club who use it all the time but it’s not about quantity, it’s about existing.Read More »
